Bring the Arctic to life! 🐻‍❄ ❄️ 🤍

22nd Jan 2026
We have been learning about animals that live in the Arctic and there was no better way to create an adorable winter-themed polar bear picture than by ditching the paintbrushes and using forks instead!

Using the forks as brushes, encouraged the children to think outside the box and experiment with unconventional painting tools and soft fabrics such as felt. The forks helped the children to create the fluffy texture of the polar bear's white fur, while exploring the world of process art.

This activity combined sensory play with art, making it an engaging and beneficial experience for the children. Holding and manoeuvring the fork helped strengthen hand muscles, coordination and fine motor skills. We had lots of open discussions about polar bears, their habitats and winter-themed stories to enhance language and science learning!

This was perfect for hands on learning, inspiring our young artists to create their very own eye-catching winter wonderland ❄️🐻‍❄✨️

Aren't they so bear-y-cool 🤍
